Hi, I'm Corbin.

 

TLDR:

My love for music brought me to Nashville, Tennessee which ultimately cultivated my second love for graphic design and marketing. I lived in Nashville for 5 years with my husband and worked at a large real estate company. I started as a marketing coordinator and ended as a marketing director. I learned a whole lot about real estate, marketing and graphic design. My husband and I made the tough decision to move back to Minnesota to be closer to our families. Moving provided me the opportunity to start my own business and be my own boss. I am forever grateful for the mentors in my life who supported me to grow and allowed me to learn some valuable lessons along the way.

The Story:

I grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis and had the typical mid-western childhood. From snowboarding trips to sports games my weekends were always filled with activities. Going into my senior year of high school I thought I was destined to go to college, become a software engineer and play basketball. That all changed once my high school basketball coach gave me an ultimatum "You can be on the team but never see a minute of the Varsity floor, or you can quit."

That was a tough decision. Sports were my life but I did what became the best decision of my life. I quit. Quitting propelled my life into a new direction. I picked up the guitar and taught myself how to play. I started writing music and songs. My love for music sparked a whole new creative side of me that I didn't know I had.

I went off to college with a new dream to move to Nashville to surround myself with like minded people and cultivate my creativity. After my freshman year, I switched majors and started studying graphic design and marketing. I loved it!

After graduating college I packed up my life and moved 800+ miles away to Nashville. I transferred my retail job and 3 months after moving I got a an offer to work for the largest independently owned real estate company in the mid-south. I worked my ass off. Starting as a marketing coordinator, answering phones, filling orders, etc. to becoming a marketing director. I was responsible for 600+ real estate agents, teaching corporate classes on marketing, creating logos, postcards, social media calendars, etc. My role at that company became an important one to my story.

After 5 years of living in Nashville,  my husband and I decided it was time to move back home to Minnesota. Our lives started to settle down and we had to start looking into the future instead of just living for today.

​

That is where Creatively Corbin was born. I moved back to Minnesota with the desire to do what I did in Nashville here in Minnesota. I wanted to help people and make their ideas come to life. I wanted freedom and ownership and starting my own business provided me with those things.
